Why This Network Exists
The Tamzine Movement is built on a simple truth: strong communities don’t happen by accident — they happen when people and organizations work together with purpose.
British Columbia already has one of the most powerful community infrastructures in the country: the BC Farmers’ Market system.
With more than 145 markets, over 5 million annual visitors, and $232 million in sales in 2023, these markets are the heartbeat of local economies. Every dollar spent creates an estimated 1.5× economic ripple in surrounding communities.
By anchoring our model to this existing network, Tamzine can reach families, vendors, volunteers, and local leaders across the entire province — all through a single, trusted community hub.
This is where our partnership begins.
🟦 Pillar 1
BC Farmers’ Markets
The Community Hub
Farmers’ markets are where people naturally gather. With 145+ markets and millions of annual visitors, they are the perfect place to introduce the Tamzine Movement, share volunteer opportunities, and connect with local families and vendors.
🟩 Pillar 2
Churches
Mobilizing Community Action
Churches help spread the message of the Tamzine Movement and encourage their congregations to support local auto shops joining the program. Members can receive free oil change coupons as a thank‑you for helping bring shops into the network.
🟧 Pillar 3
Local Auto Shops
Strengthening Local Business
Auto shops that join the Tamzine network gain new customers, increased visibility, and recognition as community‑supporting businesses. Their participation helps fuel the entire cycle of support across BC.
🟫 Pillar 4
Food Banks
Supporting Families in Need
Food banks receive reliable volunteer support through coordinated communication with farmers’ markets and churches. This ensures repack events and distribution efforts have the hands they need when they need them most.
How the Community Impact Cycle Works
The strength of the Tamzine Movement comes from how each partner supports the next. When farmers’ markets, churches, auto shops, and food banks work together, they create a continuous cycle of support that strengthens communities across British Columbia.
🔄 The Cycle
1. Farmers’ Markets Spread Awareness
Markets introduce visitors, vendors, and families to the Tamzine Movement. This is where the message begins and where community engagement naturally grows.
2. Churches Mobilize Volunteers and Support
Churches share the mission with their congregations and encourage members to help bring local auto shops into the program. Members receive free oil change coupons as a thank‑you for participating.
3. Auto Shops Join the Network
Local shops benefit from new customers and increased visibility. Their involvement fuels the coupon program and strengthens the entire movement.
4. Food Banks Receive Volunteer Support
Through coordinated communication with farmers’ markets and churches, food banks get the volunteers they need for repack events and distribution days.
5. Communities Grow Stronger
Families receive support, local businesses thrive, and the cycle repeats — expanding the impact across the province.
⭐ Support for Farmers Who Choose to Donate
Farmers are at the heart of every community, and many want to give back by donating fresh food to local food banks. The Tamzine Movement is committed to making these donations easier, more affordable, and more accessible across British Columbia.
To ensure that transportation costs never become a barrier to generosity, Tamzine provides dedicated freight support for farmers who choose to donate.
Freight Support Options
Farmers who donate can receive:
-
Up to $2,250 in freight cost coverage, or
-
A transportation gift of $2.25 per mile
This support helps ensure that fresh, local food can reach food banks and families in need — even when long‑distance delivery is required.
Why This Matters
By removing transportation barriers, Tamzine empowers farmers to contribute directly to food security in their communities. This strengthens the entire partnership network and ensures that donated food reaches the people who need it most.
⭐ Why This Matters
The Community Partnership Network is more than a program — it’s a coordinated effort to strengthen British Columbia from the ground up. By connecting farmers’ markets, churches, auto shops, and food banks, the Tamzine Movement creates a support system where every group contributes to the well being of the whole.
This model helps:
-
Support families in need with reliable food bank resources
-
Strengthen local economies by driving customers to community‑based businesses
-
Empower farmers to donate without carrying transportation costs
-
Mobilize volunteers quickly and effectively across the province
-
Build long‑term community resilience through shared purpose and cooperation
When each partner plays their part, the impact reaches far beyond any single organization. It becomes a province‑wide movement of generosity, support, and community strength.
